Qualified Nigerians will soon be able to apply for fully funded Master’s degree scholarships in Ireland following the announcement of the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme by the Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria.
The embassy disclosed that applications for the fellowship will open on June 29 and remain available until July 26, 2026, for eligible early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the embassy said the programme offers successful candidates the opportunity to undertake a one-year postgraduate degree at leading Irish universities with major study-related expenses fully covered.
It explained that beneficiaries would receive a comprehensive funding package covering tuition fees, monthly stipends, accommodation, return airfare, visa costs and health insurance throughout the duration of their studies.
The embassy advised prospective applicants to consult the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal for detailed information on eligibility requirements and the application process.
According to the guidelines, applicants must be citizens and residents of Nigeria or Ghana, possess at least a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower division and have no fewer than three years of relevant professional experience.
For Nigerian applicants, the programme also includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, designed to support postgraduate studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
The embassy encouraged interested candidates to submit their applications before the closing date, noting that the fellowship is aimed at strengthening professional capacity and leadership through postgraduate education in Ireland.
