The All Progressives Congress candidate for Akoko Southwest II State Constituency, Hon. Niran Olanusi, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa over what he described as a renewed and deliberate drive to fast-track development across Ondo State.
Olanusi said recent policy actions and project executions by the administration reflect a stronger focus on infrastructure renewal, institutional reforms, and economic expansion aimed at repositioning the state for long-term growth.
He particularly highlighted the ongoing construction of a flyover and major road interchange in Akure, describing it as a strategic intervention designed to ease traffic congestion, improve urban transportation, and enhance commercial activities within the state capital.
According to him, the project demonstrates forward-looking governance that anticipates population growth and increasing pressure on existing urban infrastructure.
The APC candidate also commended the recent appointment and swearing-in of a new Head of Service, Segun Odusanya, noting that the move aligns with efforts to strengthen discipline, professionalism, and efficiency within the state civil service.
He argued that a reformed public service remains central to effective governance delivery, adding that the development signals a broader institutional renewal under the current administration.
Olanusi further lauded renewed momentum around the Olokola Free Trade Zone and the proposed deep seaport and industrial corridor, describing it as a major economic opportunity capable of transforming Ondo State into a regional hub for industry, trade, and logistics.
He noted that renewed engagement with private investors, including interest previously expressed by major industrial players such as the Dangote Group, underscores growing confidence in the state’s economic direction.
According to him, the project, if fully implemented, is expected to generate large-scale employment, attract both local and foreign investment, and significantly boost maritime and industrial activities along the coastal belt.
Olanusi described the economic initiative as a “turning point” that could redefine the state’s development trajectory if sustained with strong political will and continuity.
Reaffirming his political commitment, the APC candidate pledged to align with the state’s development agenda if elected, adding that Akoko Southwest II would be actively integrated into ongoing infrastructural and economic programmes.
He maintained that effective representation at the state legislature would ensure that the constituency benefits directly from government initiatives in infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic development.
Olanusi urged residents of the constituency to remain supportive of the current governance direction in the state, expressing optimism that ongoing reforms would translate into inclusive growth and broader prosperity.
He also pledged to serve as a link between the people and government in advancing development across Akoko Southwest II.
