Shock as stray dog disrupts activities at Government House

Workers and visitors at the Old Government House in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, were thrown into panic on Monday after a stray dog reportedly wandered into the premises, disrupting normal activities.

Witnesses said the dog, described as aggressive-looking, entered the Government House complex along Ogoja Road during official working hours, causing anxiety among staff and members of the public within the facility.

The unexpected appearance of the animal reportedly triggered a brief commotion, with some workers rushing to safety while others sought ways to contain it.

Sources within the Government House said the dog appeared to be lost and had been moving around the premises without a known owner.

According to the sources, the animal's presence temporarily affected activities within parts of the complex as efforts were made to prevent any potential danger.

As of the time of filing this report, officials were said to be taking steps to safely remove the dog from the premises and restore normal operations.

The owner of the animal had yet to be identified.
