A non-governmental organisation, Royal Grace International Foundation, has appealed to the Ondo State Government and well-meaning Nigerians to assist an indigent resident of the state from Ogbagi Akoko, Mr Orimolade Kayode Emmanuel, who is battling a critical health condition requiring urgent surgery.
The foundation, in a statement issued on Friday, called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to intervene by facilitating the medical treatment of Kayode, whose surgery is estimated to cost N6m.
According to the organisation, the patient is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where medical consultants reportedly recommended immediate surgery to save his life.
The foundation said Kayode's family could not raise the amount required for the procedure, hence the appeal for financial assistance from government, corporate organisations, philanthropists and members of the public.
It urged compassionate Nigerians to support the patient in order to give him a chance of survival, describing him as a promising young man whose life could be saved through timely intervention.
The organisation also appealed to members of the public to help circulate the appeal on social media and other platforms to reach individuals and organisations willing to support the treatment.
