A former presidential aspirant and Founder of Project One Productions, Mrs Abisayo Busari-Akinnadeju, has felicitated the people of Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, on the occasion of the 2026 Akungba Day and New Yam Festival, urging residents to uphold the community's values of unity, peace and collective development.
In a goodwill message issued on Saturday, Busari-Akinnadeju described the annual celebration as more than a cultural festival, saying it reflects the identity, resilience and enduring heritage of the Akungba people.
She congratulated the Alale of Akungba-Akoko, Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu, the Council of Chiefs, the Akungba Day Planning Committee and all individuals who have continued to preserve the town's cultural traditions.
According to her, the community has produced outstanding sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in education, public service, business, agriculture, technology and other fields across Nigeria and beyond.
The former presidential aspirant stressed that the future of Akungba depends on the collective commitment of its people to invest in the younger generation, promote peaceful coexistence and pursue sustainable development.
She also called for continued support for initiatives that promote education, youth and women empowerment, leadership development and community progress.
Busari-Akinnadeju reaffirmed her commitment to supporting programmes that strengthen communities and inspire nation-building, adding that development can only thrive where people work together for the common good.
She urged indigenes of Akungba, both at home and in the diaspora, to remain worthy ambassadors of the town by upholding the virtues of integrity, excellence, compassion and selfless service.
She prayed for a bumper harvest, prosperity, peace and accelerated development for the community, while wishing residents and visitors a successful and memorable Akungba Day and New Yam Festival celebration.
