The All Progressives Congress candidate for Akoko South West Constituency II in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Niran Olanusi, has called on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the PVC as a vital tool for democratic participation.
The call was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Media Office of the Hon. Niran Olanusi Campaign Organisation, which said the lawmaker hopeful had intensified grassroots mobilisation and community engagement across the constituency.
Olanusi urged residents, particularly young people and first-time voters, to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission and collect their PVCs, stressing that participation in elections begins with voter registration.
According to him, democracy can only thrive when citizens actively participate in the electoral process.
He said, "Your PVC is your power. Without it, your voice cannot count. I encourage every eligible voter to visit the nearest INEC office and ensure they are registered."
The APC candidate explained that the voter education campaign forms part of efforts to deepen civic engagement and prepare residents for the 2027 elections.
Beyond voter mobilisation, Olanusi said he had continued consultations with communities across the constituency, where he met with traditional leaders, women, youths and other residents to discuss their needs and expectations.
He said quality representation should be driven by service, accessibility and policies that directly improve the lives of the people.
"Our people deserve quality representation that listens, cares and delivers. Together, we will build a stronger and more prosperous Akoko South West where every community has a voice and every child has hope," he said.
Olanusi pledged that, if elected into the Ondo State House of Assembly, his legislative agenda would prioritise education, healthcare, rural infrastructure, youth empowerment and sustainable community development.
He also said the completion of the candidate nomination process by the Independent National Electoral Commission signalled the beginning of intensified mobilisation ahead of the polls, expressing confidence that the electorate would support leaders committed to integrity and effective service delivery.
