An Akure-based legal practitioner and Principal Partner of Olufemi Oludare & Co. Chambers, Mr Oluduro Adonis, has donated food items and N150,000 in cash to residents of the Ago Ireti Leprosy Community in Akure, Ondo State, as part of efforts to support vulnerable members of society.
The donation was presented to members of the community on Wednesday following reports that they had not received financial assistance from the Ondo State Government since November 2025.

Speaking during the presentation, Adonis said he was moved to act after learning about the plight of the residents, noting that the intervention was aimed at easing their hardship.
He said, “I was touched by reports that members of this community have not received financial support for several months. I decided to contribute within my capacity to put smiles on their faces and encourage them not to lose hope.”
The lawyer explained that supporting the less privileged had always been part of his personal commitment to humanity, adding that he would continue to extend assistance to vulnerable persons whenever the opportunity arose.
He said, “This is not the first time I have reached out to people in need, and by God's grace, it will not be the last. I also encourage individuals and organisations to make caring for the less privileged a way of life. The reward for every act of kindness comes from God.”
Items distributed during the outreach included three bags of rice, one bag of beans, two bags of garri, 10 packs of noodles, 10 packs of spaghetti, 25 litres of vegetable oil, two bags of salt, two cartons of detergent, five cartons of tomato paste and N150,000 in cash.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ruth Alade described the gesture as timely and appreciated the donor for remembering the community during a period of economic hardship.
“We are sincerely grateful for this kind gesture. This support will go a long way in meeting our immediate needs. We pray that God will continue to bless and reward him abundantly,” she said.
Members of the Ago Ireti Leprosy Community also commended Adonis for the donation, describing it as a demonstration of compassion and a source of hope for the residents.
Speaking on the sidelines of the donation, an associate of the donor, Mr Kayode Aladetoun, commended Adonis for the humanitarian gesture, describing it as a demonstration of compassion and selfless service to humanity.
He urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the lawyer by extending support to vulnerable members of society.
Barrister Peter Ujah also lauded the intervention, saying the donation reflected Adonis' commitment to improving the welfare of the less privileged.
He noted that such acts of generosity would inspire hope among vulnerable communities.
Similarly, Mr Adeola Ado described the outreach as timely and impactful, saying the donation would help ease the hardship being experienced by residents of the leprosy community.
He called on individuals and corporate organisations to complement such efforts through similar humanitarian interventions.
