An Akure Magistrate's Court has ordered the remand of a man, Musa Bolade, at the Olokuta Correctional Centre over his alleged involvement in a kidnapping case.
Bolade was arraigned by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, on a one-count charge of kidnapping.
The prosecutor, Precious Nwanfor, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on June 24, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m. at Igbojoko Camp in Shagari Village, Owo, Ondo State.
According to the prosecution, Bolade allegedly took part in activities linked to kidnapping, an offence punishable under Section 8 of the Ondo State Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Abduction Law, 2010.
Nwanfor urged the court to remand the defendant pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Counsel for the defendant, Peaceman Jemine, sought an adjournment to enable the defence file the necessary application before the court.
In his ruling, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.
The magistrate subsequently adjourned the case until July 29, 2026, for hearing of the application and further mention.
