Osun Gov, Adeleke, Accord leaders adopt Tinubu as 2027 Presidential candidate

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the national leadership of the Accord Party have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party's presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The endorsement was reached during a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where the governor and party leaders deliberated on national issues and the party's political direction.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Adeleke's re-election campaign spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, who said the meeting also reviewed preparations for the forthcoming Osun governorship election.

According to the statement, the Accord leadership expressed support for the continuation of the Tinubu administration, stressing that the President should be allowed to complete ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.

The party also discussed the conduct of the August governorship election in Osun, calling for a peaceful electoral process devoid of violence, voter intimidation and manipulation.

It urged security agencies to remain impartial and avoid actions that could undermine the credibility of the poll or intimidate members of the Accord Party.

Those present at the meeting included the party's National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; and National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph.

Also in attendance were Accord Party chairmen from states across the country, who participated in discussions on the party's plans ahead of the 2027 general election and the forthcoming Osun governorship poll.
