2027: APC National Secretary meets Osun Gov, Adeleke

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has met with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as part of efforts to secure the state’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Basiru disclosed this on Sunday after the meeting, saying discussions with the governor focused on securing Osun for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The APC national secretary said Adeleke had committed to supporting the President’s ambition, although details of the governor’s position were not immediately made public.

Basiru said his visit was also to congratulate Adeleke on his electoral victory and appreciate him for attending the burial of his late mother.

He stated that the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss political cooperation ahead of the 2027 elections.

“During the visit, we discussed the need to deliver Osun State for Mr President in the 2027 presidential election, in line with the commitment made by Governor Ademola Adeleke,” Basiru said.

The meeting comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, with political parties and key stakeholders already making moves to strengthen their support bases.

Basiru, a former senator who represented Osun Central Senatorial District, has remained an influential figure within the APC and has been involved in the party’s political engagements in the state.

The governor’s reported commitment to supporting Tinubu could have implications for the political calculations in Osun ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.
