Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, popularly known as FMA, is building his campaign for the Ondo North Senatorial District around a message that public service should begin before political office.
Adefemi, who is seeking the Senate seat in the 2027 election, has pointed to his interventions in education, youth development and economic support as evidence of his longstanding engagement with the people of the district.
His supporters contend that the initiatives, carried out before he sought elective office, offer a different measure of leadership and demonstrate his willingness to invest in people without waiting for political power.
The campaign is also capitalising on growing calls for stronger representation of Ondo North at the National Assembly, with Adefemi's camp faulting what it describes as the limited impact of the incumbent senator.
Beyond the contest for the seat, Adefemi is presenting his candidacy as an opportunity to shift the focus from electoral promises to a record of service that predates the campaign season.
If elected, he says his priorities will include expanding opportunities for young people, supporting students, promoting job creation and attracting federal projects and interventions to the senatorial district.
His campaign argues that his background in business, philanthropy and youth development has equipped him with practical experience that could be deployed to address some of the economic and social challenges confronting constituents.
For Adefemi and his supporters, the 2027 election will therefore provide voters with an opportunity to decide whether a candidate's record of community engagement outside political office can form the basis for a new style of representation in Ondo North.
