The Accord Party has appointed the National President of SAGG, Adegoriola Steven, and a university professor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, to lead the party and reposition its political structures in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adegoriola, a former Students’ Union leader of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, disclosed this in an interview, saying the appointment was aimed at strengthening the party and expanding its presence across the state.
He said, “The party has appointed Prof. Olugbenga Ige and myself to pilot its affairs in Ondo State. Our mandate is to reposition Accord and build a stronger political structure that will be attractive to the people of the state.”
Adegoriola said the new leadership would focus on mobilising members, strengthening the party at the grassroots and preparing it for the forthcoming elections.
“Our priority is to ensure that Accord becomes a formidable political force in Ondo State. We are going to reach out to the people at the grassroots and give them a platform where their voices can be heard,” he stated.
He also declared the support of the Ondo State chapter for the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Obinali Mgbudem Maxwell, describing the national leadership as committed to strengthening Accord across the country.
“We are fully in support of our National Chairman, Barrister Obinali Mgbudem Maxwell. We believe in his leadership and are ready to work with him to move the party forward,” Adegoriola added.
The party chieftain expressed optimism that Accord would make a significant impact in the 2027 general elections, urging members and supporters in Ondo State to remain united and committed to the party.
“We are optimistic about the future of Accord in Ondo State. With the support of our members and the people of the state, we are confident that the party will make waves in the 2027 elections,” he said.
