APC completes submission of governorship, Assembly candidates to INEC

The All Progressives Congress has announced the successful upload of all its governorship, deputy governorship and State House of Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission's Candidate Nomination Portal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party's National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, describing the exercise as a major milestone in the APC's preparations for the next electoral cycle.

According to him, the party successfully uploaded the details of all 56 governorship and deputy governorship candidates, alongside 1,015 candidates for State Houses of Assembly across the country.

Yilwatda congratulated party leaders, members and candidates for the achievement, saying it reflected the APC's organisational capacity and commitment to meeting INEC's electoral requirements.

He noted that the completion of the nomination process positions the ruling party for the next phase of activities leading to the 2027 general elections.

The APC chairman added that the party would now intensify nationwide engagement with Nigerians while highlighting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu's administration as part of its campaign strategy ahead of the polls.

He expressed confidence that the APC remained well-positioned to consolidate its preparations and compete effectively in the forthcoming elections.
