The All Progressives Congress, Panda Karwe Ward in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has suspended one of its members, Abdullahi Usmamembern Bomboi of Koso, over alleged involvement in activities deemed inimical to the party.
The suspension was conveyed in a letter dated August 13, 2026, and addressed to Bomboi, with the ward stating that the disciplinary measure would take effect from August 15.
The ward accused the APC member of attending an SDP campaign rally and participating in the party’s activities during a visit to Karu on August 12.
The alleged action was described by the ward leadership as anti-party conduct and a breach of party loyalty.
The suspension letter stated that Bomboi’s alleged involvement in the event was inconsistent with the responsibilities and obligations expected of an APC member.
“Your participation in the campaign rally and activities of the Social Democratic Party amounts to anti-party activity and disrespect for the leadership of the All Progressives Congress,” the ward stated in the letter.
Copies of the suspension notice were sent to the APC leadership at the local government, zonal and state levels for their information and further action where necessary.
The development comes as political activities intensify in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with parties stepping up grassroots mobilisation and strengthening internal structures.
However, the suspension notice did not indicate whether Bomboi had been invited to respond to the allegation before the ward took the disciplinary action.
It was also unclear whether the suspension would be followed by additional disciplinary proceedings by the party’s local government, zonal or state leadership.
