The National Youth Service Corps has released a new set of directives for prospective corps members, warning them to avoid travelling at night as preparations begin for the forthcoming orientation course.
In an advisory posted on its official X platform, the scheme urged prospective corps members to make their safety a priority by embarking on trips to their orientation camps only during the daytime.
The NYSC also stated that candidates whose graduation dates on their call-up letters do not tally with those on their statements of results would not be admitted for registration at the camps.
It advised affected graduates to regularise such discrepancies through the Student Affairs Officers of their institutions before proceeding to the orientation camps.
The scheme further instructed prospective corps members to print, endorse and submit their registration forms as part of the documentation process at their respective camps.
For those seeking to correct their dates of birth, the NYSC directed them to obtain a 19- or 20-digit WAEC Verification PIN and process the request through the correction portal on their NYSC dashboards.
According to the agency, applicants are expected to provide their WAEC examination details, complete the verification process and submit the application online for approval.
The NYSC urged all prospective corps members to adhere strictly to the new guidelines to facilitate a hitch-free registration exercise and prevent avoidable challenges during the orientation programme.
