Oka New Yam Festival: NDC candidate Adeyeri greets Olubaka, Olusin residents

The Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate for Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency, Hon. Adeyeri Stephen Kunle, popularly known as ASK, has congratulated the people of Oka-Akoko on the celebration of this year's New Yam Festival.

In a goodwill message released on Saturday, the federal constituency hopeful described the annual festival as a cherished cultural heritage that reflects the unity, industry and rich traditions of the Oka people.

Adeyeri also extended his congratulations to the Olubaka of Oka, Oba (Dr.) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON, commending the monarch's leadership and commitment to the peace, growth and cultural preservation of the ancient community.

He equally felicitated the Olusin of Owalusin, Iwaro Oka-Akoko, Oba Stephen Oloruntele Ogunoye (JP), wishing him a successful and memorable celebration.

The NDC candidate urged sons and daughters of Oka, both at home and in the diaspora, to use the occasion to strengthen the bond of unity and promote the development of the community.

According to him, the New Yam Festival remains a symbol of gratitude to God for a successful harvest and an opportunity to celebrate the community's cultural identity.

Adeyeri reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that would preserve the cultural values of the people while promoting sustainable development across Akoko South East and Akoko South West Federal Constituency.

He prayed for continued peace, prosperity and progress in Oka-Akoko and wished all residents a joyous and successful New Yam Festival celebration.
