The ADC senatorial candidate for Ondo North, Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, has assured women across Owo Local Government Area of meaningful participation in governance if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Adefemi gave the assurance during a meeting of women members of the African Democratic Congress across the 11 wards of Owo Local Government, where he reaffirmed his commitment to empowering women and giving them a prominent role in his administration.
The candidate, who was represented at the event by Barrister Ife Ajibuwa, expressed appreciation to the women for their support and mobilisation, noting that their large turnout demonstrated their commitment to the ADC and its political agenda.
He said, “I appreciate the women for coming out in such numbers. Your support is important, and I want to assure you that women will not be left behind. They will have a significant place in governance when we emerge victorious.”
Adefemi further assured the women that they would be considered for key positions in his administration, stressing that their contributions to the political development of the senatorial district would not be taken for granted.
The women, who welcomed the assurances, pledged their support for Adefemi and other ADC candidates contesting various elective positions in Owo and across the senatorial district.
The meeting, organised by the ADC Owo Local Government Women Leader, brought together women from the 11 wards, alongside the ADC State Women Leader, state executive members and other party stakeholders.
Also in attendance were the ADC House of Representatives candidate for Owo Federal Constituency, Engr. Adesida, and the party’s two candidates for the Owo State House of Assembly constituencies, who joined other stakeholders in mobilising support for the party ahead of the elections.
