The African Democratic Congress senatorial candidate for Ondo North, Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, has said the district has suffered years of underdevelopment, promising to change the situation if elected in the 2027 election.
Adefemi said his ambition was driven by the need to provide the people with effective representation and attract meaningful development to the senatorial district.
The ADC candidate, in a statement, expressed confidence in his chances of winning the election, saying residents were increasingly demanding a fresh political direction and a representative who would prioritise their welfare.
According to him, Ondo North has vast human and natural resources but has not received adequate attention in areas such as infrastructure, economic growth and employment opportunities.
“Ondo North has waited long enough for meaningful development and purposeful representation. I am convinced that our people are ready for a new direction and I am prepared to provide that leadership,” he said.
Adefemi pledged to prioritise the attraction of federal projects, economic empowerment and government interventions to communities across the district if elected to the Senate.
He also promised to make his representation accessible and accountable, saying the views and needs of constituents would guide his legislative agenda at the National Assembly.
The candidate urged voters across Ondo North to support the ADC in 2027, saying his election would mark a departure from the past and usher in a new phase of development for the district.
