The General Overseer of God Central Ministry, Prophet Olumuyiwa Akogun, has warned of a possible political crisis in Ondo State, claiming he received a divine revelation that violence in Ikale land could claim 14 lives if urgent steps are not taken.
The cleric, in a video circulating on social media, appealed to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and other political stakeholders to intervene and prevent the situation he described from escalating.
Akogun alleged that the development was linked to an internal dispute within the All Progressives Congress over an election, a court case and issues surrounding a House of Representatives seat.
According to him, the disagreement could degenerate into violence unless those involved embrace dialogue and peaceful resolution.
"I saw people carrying corpses. God revealed that the conflict is connected to election results. Those concerned should act quickly to stop it," the cleric said in the video.
He specifically claimed that 14 people could lose their lives in Ikale land if the dispute was left unresolved, urging political actors to exercise restraint in the interest of peace.
The prophet also appealed to the state government to take proactive measures, saying the alleged crisis could be prevented if prompt action was taken. He urged leaders not to allow political disagreements to result in bloodshed.
Akogun's latest warning comes months after he predicted a possible political rift between Governor Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr Olaide Adelami, claiming at the time that the deputy governor could face impeachment if both leaders failed to work together.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Ondo State Government nor the APC had responded to the cleric's latest claims.
The prophecy remains the personal claim of the cleric, with no independent evidence to confirm that the predicted events will occur.
