The Ondo North Senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, has challenged the incumbent senator, Olajide Ipinsagba, to make public his achievements in the district.
Adefemi said the senator should present his record to constituents and explain the impact of his representation since assuming office, ahead of the 2027 elections.
The ADC candidate made the call while speaking on the need for greater accountability and transparency in the representation of the six local government areas that make up Ondo North.
He argued that elected representatives should be able to account for their legislative activities, projects and interventions, saying constituents deserved regular information on what was being done on their behalf.
Adefemi, who is campaigning on a platform of stronger grassroots engagement, said his proposed representation would place greater emphasis on accountability, youth development, education, healthcare and infrastructure.
He said his campaign would continue to engage residents across the senatorial district, adding that public office holders should remain accessible to the people they represent.
Adefemi also pledged that, if elected, he would institutionalise regular town-hall meetings across the six LGAs to give constituents opportunities to question him on his legislative activities and the use of constituency resources.
The 2027 senatorial race in Ondo North has Adefemi of the ADC and Ipinsagba of the APC among the candidates listed for the district, alongside candidates of other political parties.
