The Ondo State Government has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing individuals with grassroots experience and leadership capacity into his administration.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, gave the commendation on Thursday when he received three newly appointed Senior Special Assistants to the governor on Community Engagement during a courtesy visit to his office.
Fasoranti expressed confidence in the ability of the appointees, Hon. Akindele Adeniyi, Gbologe Olufunmi Alex and Obayan Theophilus Ayodeji, to effectively represent their respective senatorial districts and strengthen the government’s engagement with communities.
The SSG said the inclusion of competent technocrats and experienced grassroots politicians in the cabinet demonstrated the governor’s commitment to building an administration driven by integrity and effective leadership.
He noted that the appointments would further strengthen the connection between the government and residents at the grassroots, particularly across the state’s 18 local government areas.
Fasoranti said, “I want to thank Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing grassroots politicians who built their support, influence and political careers from the local community level upward.
“I have no doubt in my mind that you are going to ensure that you prioritise grassroots governance and rapid community development across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.”
He urged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by the governor through effective engagement with the people and by ensuring that the concerns of communities receive appropriate attention.
The SSG added that their experience at the grassroots would be valuable in bridging the gap between the government and the people.
