BREAKING: Suspected thugs attack Peter Obi’s convoy [Video]

The arrival of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, in Benue State on Tuesday was reportedly marred by a road blockade involving suspected thugs.

The allegation was made by Obi’s media aide, Esther Umoh, who shared videos on her X account purportedly showing the disruption along a route being used by the politician and his entourage.

Umoh said the incident happened shortly after Obi arrived in the state, alleging that the group blocked the Boko Road close to the Air Force Base.

She claimed the action was aimed at preventing the former Anambra State governor from proceeding into the state.

In a post accompanying one of the videos, the aide alleged that the individuals responsible for the blockade were sponsored to frustrate Obi’s movement.

Another video circulated by Umoh showed several individuals running towards vehicles travelling with the convoy. She described the development as an attempt to attack members of the entourage.

However, there was no independent confirmation of the identities or motives of the individuals seen in the videos at the time of filing this report.

The Benue State Government and the state Police Command had yet to comment publicly on the allegation as of press time.
