Lagos was thrown into a celebration mood on September 3 and 5, 2026, as prominent Nigerians converged on the city for the traditional and wedding ceremonies of Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore, son of businessman and Niger Delta leader, High Chief Dr. Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore.
Oghenekome tied the knot with his heartthrob, former Miss Stephanie Spencer, now Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore, at ceremonies marked by cultural displays, music, dancing and the gathering of political, business, military and traditional leaders.
Among the dignitaries who attended were the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri; Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji; Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Peter Akpe; and a representative of the Ondo State Governor.
Also present were former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, alongside other political leaders.
The ceremonies also attracted serving and former lawmakers, commissioners and local government chairmen, as well as senior military officers, captains of industry, bank executives, chief executive officers and stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.
Traditional rulers, royal fathers and prominent chiefs, particularly from Delta, Bayelsa and Ekiti states, were also among the guests who gathered to celebrate with the Egukawhore family and the newlyweds.
The celebrations provided an opportunity for families, friends, associates and well-wishers from within and outside Nigeria to reunite, with guests entertained by music, dance and cultural performances.
The groom’s father, High Chief Wayles Egukawhore, who expressed gratitude to the guests for honouring the family, was one of the highlights of the celebrations as his energetic dancing drew applause from the gathering. He prayed for God’s blessings, protection and safe journeys for all who attended the ceremonies.
