Ondo North has not enjoyed quality representation — ADC candidate, Adefemi

The African Democratic Congress senatorial candidate for Ondo North, Prince Foluso Mayowa Adefemi, has criticised what he described as years of poor representation in the district, saying successive senators failed to sufficiently use their positions to transform the communities under their jurisdiction.

Adefemi, who spoke on his ambition ahead of the 2027 senatorial election, said the district had remained largely underdeveloped despite its human and natural resources and the opportunities available through federal representation.

According to him, the towns and communities making up Ondo North deserved better infrastructure, economic opportunities, employment and government interventions, which he said had not been adequately attracted to the area by previous representatives.

He said the district had produced senators who had opportunities to influence development through the National Assembly but had failed to translate such opportunities into meaningful improvements in the lives of the people.

“Over the years, our people have watched opportunities pass by without seeing the level of transformation expected in our towns and communities. Ondo North deserves representation that will turn legislative opportunities into tangible development,” Adefemi said.

The ADC candidate said his decision to contest was motivated by the desire to provide what he described as purposeful, accessible and accountable representation to the people of the senatorial district.

Adefemi pledged to pursue federal projects and interventions across Ondo North, while also focusing on economic empowerment and initiatives that could create opportunities for young people and other residents.

He said his legislative agenda would be guided by the needs of constituents, promising to maintain regular engagement with the people and ensure that their concerns were properly presented at the National Assembly.

Expressing confidence in his chances in the 2027 election, Adefemi said the people of Ondo North were ready for a change and urged them to support the ADC, saying his election would usher in a new era of effective representation and development in the district.
