Residents of Ministry/Olokun Street, Arigidi-Akoko, in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, have regained hope of electricity supply following the provision of a 500KVA transformer facilitated by the member representing Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ifeoluwa Babajide Ehindero.

The intervention followed prolonged power outage in the community, which reportedly lasted about 15 months and disrupted domestic activities, businesses and other socio-economic activities in the area.

The transformer was handed over to the community on behalf of Ehindero by his Legislative Assistant 1, Bankole Muhammed, who said the project was part of the lawmaker’s efforts to address pressing needs identified across the constituency.

Muhammed said the intervention was aimed at easing the hardship caused by the prolonged outage, noting that reliable electricity was essential to the growth of businesses and the well-being of residents.

He said, “This intervention is a direct response to the concerns of our people. Hon. Ehindero understands that electricity is not just about light; it supports businesses, improves security and makes everyday life easier for families.”

Muhammed added that the lawmaker would continue to identify genuine needs in communities within the constituency and facilitate interventions aimed at improving residents’ living conditions.

A resident, Ibikule, who spoke on behalf of the community, expressed appreciation to Ehindero for responding to their plight, describing the transformer as a major relief after months without electricity.

“We are very happy and grateful for this transformer. We have suffered for a long time without electricity, and this intervention means a lot to us. We appreciate Hon. Ehindero for listening to our concerns and responding to the needs of the people,” he said.

The intervention, according to the lawmaker, forms part of ongoing efforts to address infrastructure and basic service challenges across communities in the Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency.
