The materials were distributed on Tuesday at Alade, Idanre, where students arrived alongside their principals and school management teams to participate in the exercise organised under the FESSY West Education Support initiative.
The beneficiaries were drawn from St. Joseph’s Catholic Grammar School, Ilemobola Girls High School, Baptist Grammar School, Idanre High School, Olofin Anglican Grammar School, United High School, Owena, and Ebun Ogunyimika Comprehensive College.
The Area Education Officer for Idanre, Mrs Adeniyi O., supervised the distribution alongside an education official, Mr Kayode John Esan, and other stakeholders, including a former Secretary of Idanre Local Government, Hon. Adegunleye Fioye.
Adeniyi commended Akingbaso for the intervention, saying the free materials would help reduce the financial burden on parents and support students in their academic activities.
She also recalled Akingbaso’s previous intervention in the education sector, particularly his efforts to engage private teachers for schools located in difficult terrains across Idanre.
The Principal of Idanre High School, Mrs Oyeniyi, also appreciated the lawmaker and urged the students to take their studies seriously, while Fioye commended the initiative and encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials.
The materials were subsequently allocated to the participating schools, with arrangements made for their transportation from the distribution venue, as beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention.
