2027: Tinubu may need rigging to win Abuja - Primate Ayodele claims

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu may struggle to win the Federal Capital Territory in the 2027 presidential election without electoral manipulation.

Ayodele made the prediction in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, alleging that support for Tinubu was waning in the North ahead of the poll.

The cleric claimed that voters in the region were increasingly opposed to the President’s re-election, adding that northern voters would play a decisive role in determining the outcome of the presidential contest.

He also dismissed the reported choice of Abdulazeez Yari as the President’s campaign Director-General as insufficient to reverse the alleged shift in political sentiment.

“The North hates Tinubu’s candidacy, and even with Yari as DG, they are adamant to vote Tinubu because what is happening now is just nemesis,” Ayodele said.

He listed Adamawa, Katsina, Jigawa, Zamfara, Sokoto and Bauchi among the states where he predicted challenges for the ruling party, while describing the political situation in Abuja as uncertain. He also said the electorate in Yobe, Gombe and Kebbi remained divided.

The cleric, however, suggested that the situation could change if Tinubu took steps to address the concerns of voters, although he maintained that Yari’s appointment would not be enough to secure victory for the President.

In a separate prediction, Ayodele claimed that Nigeria would eventually change its name, arguing that the country’s present name had spiritual implications for leadership and governance.

He alleged that the name could contribute to setbacks even when those in power had good intentions.
