Birthday: ‘Like the Iroko, Mimiko’s relevance remains evergreen’ — Ipinsagba

Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Olajide Ipinsagba, has paid glowing tribute to former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as “the Iroko of Ondo politics.”

In a goodwill message, Ipinsagba, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, lauded Mimiko’s courage, resilience, and contributions to governance, stressing that his impact in health care, education, and urban renewal during his tenure as governor has left indelible marks in the state.

“Like the Iroko tree that does not wither with seasons, you have stood firm across the years, carrying the burdens of leadership with courage and leaving behind legacies that time cannot erase,” the senator said.

Ipinsagba noted that Mimiko’s transition from medicine to politics reflected “a rare devotion to humanity,” adding that his leadership style gave shade and comfort to many in the state.

He prayed for God’s continued grace upon the former governor, wishing him peace, strength, and fulfillment in the years ahead.

The lawmaker joined the people of Ondo State and admirers across the country in celebrating Mimiko’s enduring influence on politics and governance.
