Afolabi Momoh Mogaji has declared that the people of Ondo North Senatorial District have endured enough hardship and deserve quality representation that will bring real development to their communities.
He made this known during a series of meetings with key leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Akoko North East, Akoko North West and Akoko South West Local Government Areas.
Mogaji, while addressing party stakeholders, said his decision to contest for the Ondo North Senatorial seat was borne out of desire to rescue the district from years of neglect, poor leadership and underdevelopment.
He noted that the district, once known for its vibrant economy and intellectual strength, had been relegated to the background due to ineffective representation.
He said, “Our people have suffered enough. Ondo North deserves better than what it is getting now. We cannot continue to watch our youths remain unemployed and our communities lack basic infrastructure while others move forward.”
He added that his focus would be on human development, education, industrial growth and empowerment initiatives that would directly impact the lives of the people.
Mogaji said, “I am not coming to the Senate to enrich myself or play politics as usual. I am coming to serve and to make laws that will bring prosperity to our people,” he said.
The APC leaders in the three councils commended Mogaji’s courage, describing his ambition as a welcome development that would bring fresh energy and vision to the district.
They assured him of their total support, noting that his record of service and commitment to community development speaks volumes.
One of the leaders in Akoko North East said, “Honourable Mogaji has shown consistency and compassion over the years.
“He is a man who listens to his people, and we believe he will make a difference in the Senate.”
Another leader from Akoko North West described Mogaji as a grassroots politician with a clear understanding of the challenges facing the district.
“He knows where the problems are, and he has the courage to confront them. That is the kind of leadership we need now,” he said.
In Akoko South West, Mogaji and his team were warmly received by party faithful who expressed optimism that his entry into the race would bring unity and renewed strength to the APC in the district.
A party stalwart said, “His ambition is not just about politics; it is about restoring the pride of the Akoko people. We are ready to stand with him all the way.”
The meetings came shortly after Mogaji’s official declaration last Thursday, where over one hundred chieftains of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party defected to the APC in Ikare Akoko.
The defectors, who were received by APC leaders, pledged to work Mogaji in driving the party forward and ensuring its victory in the next election.
