Bloodbath as bandits kill prince, pregnant sister, abduct two

Suspected bandits have killed a prince and his pregnant sister during a late-night attack on a family house in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The attack, which occurred at night, also led to the abduction of two other members of the family, plunging the community into mourning.

A security analyst in the North-West, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident in a post on X on Sunday, describing it as a tragic development.

According to him, the assailants stormed the private residence and shot Prince Yusuf Derdoski and his pregnant sister, while taking away two relatives to an unknown location.

He said the killings had thrown Pindiga into shock and revived fears over worsening insecurity in parts of Gombe State, where residents have raised concerns about repeated attacks.

The incident has also sparked questions over the effectiveness of security operations in the area, with calls for improved intelligence gathering and faster response by security agencies to protect vulnerable communities.

Bakatsine noted that frequent security breaches in the state underscored the need for a reassessment of security strategies, particularly in rural towns.
