Two security guards have been arrested in Bauchi State over the alleged theft of an official vehicle belonging to the Bauchi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project.
The Bauchi State Police Command said the arrest followed a report of criminal conspiracy and theft lodged at the ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters on December 12, 2025.
The complaint was filed by Ibrahim Markus, a private security supervisor with Royal Security Guard Limited and resident of Wuntin Dada, Bauchi.
Markus told police that two guards assigned to the L-PRES office along Adamu Jumba Road, GRA, Bauchi, allegedly conspired and absconded with one of the organisation’s official vehicles.
The stolen vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux with registration number 03B-04 BA, was recovered at the Bauchi Club in GRA following swift police action. The suspects, identified as Yarda John and Jessy Danjuma, both 19, were apprehended during the operation.
SP Nafiu Habib, the Command’s spokesperson, said the value of the vehicle is yet to be determined, adding that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the probe.
The police urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support crime prevention and ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
