The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Jide Ipinsagba, has lauded Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the successful revalidation of the Ondo State Seaport Certificate of Competency, describing it as a major boost for the state’s economy.
Ipinsagba, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the revalidation reflected the governor’s strategic foresight and commitment to sustainable development in the state.
The lawmaker noted that the certification would unlock vast opportunities across the maritime value chain, including job creation, improved agro-industrial exports, efficient logistics and increased revenue for Ondo State and the country at large.
He described the development as a milestone that positioned Ondo State as a key maritime gateway in the South-West, while congratulating the governor and his administration for what he called a transformative achievement.
The senator also congratulated newly screened ambassadors from Ondo State, including Ambassador Sola Iji, nominated by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, and career diplomat, Ambassador Rueben Abimbola Samuel.
Ipinsagba said their successful screening by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs reflected their excellence and dedication to national service, adding that their appointments would strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements and project Ondo State positively on the global stage.
He called on stakeholders to rally support for the initiatives, stressing that collective efforts were essential to maximizing their benefits for the long-term prosperity of Ondo State.
