Plateau-based cleric, Rev Ezekiel Dachomo, on Saturday conducted another mass burial in Ratoso Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state following a deadly attack on the community.
The burial came after suspected terrorists reportedly invaded the area and opened fire on miners, killing no fewer than 12 persons on the spot.
Sources said several other residents were missing after the attack, raising fears that the casualty figure could rise.
A viral video from the burial showed Dachomo addressing grieving residents and urging them to take steps to protect themselves during attacks.
“You have to defend yourself, we all have the right to survive, do what you can do and God is going to help us”, he said.
The cleric recently drew public attention after alleging that Christians were facing genocide in parts of the country.
Despite pushback from the Presidency and other stakeholders, Dachomo has continued to insist that Islamic extremists are persecuting Christians and are determined to wipe them out.
