The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has adjusted the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, increasing it from N699 to N799 per litre.
Following the upward review, the refinery disclosed that petrol will now be sold at N839 per litre at MRS filling stations nationwide.
In a statement released on Monday evening, the refinery explained that the price adjustment followed the end of the festive period, noting that the earlier pricing regime was a temporary intervention to ease pressure on consumers.
It stated that the modest realignment was necessary to sustain market stability and ensure affordability in the long term, adding that the current pricing reflects prevailing operational realities.
The refinery recalled that it deliberately absorbed significant costs during the festive season to cushion Nigerians amid increased household spending, describing the move as part of its national support efforts.
According to the statement, this was the second consecutive festive period in which the company intervened on pricing, after providing logistics support in 2024 and implementing a price reduction in 2025 to maintain market calm.
The refinery, however, lamented that several filling stations failed to reflect the reduced pump prices during the intervention period, thereby denying consumers the intended benefits.
Speaking on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, David Bird, said the facility continues to supply about 50 million litres of petrol daily to the domestic market, with distribution running smoothly nationwide.
Bird added that the refinery’s flexible design allows it to process various crude feedstocks, ensuring steady petrol supply even during maintenance, while shielding Nigeria from import-related volatility and external supply disruptions.
