The Chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board, Dr Olusegun Victor Ategbole, has initiated a strategic partnership with MedShare International Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in the state.

The engagement, held in furtherance of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s OUR EASE agenda, is aimed at repositioning and modernising public health institutions across Ondo State.

MedShare International is a humanitarian organisation that collaborates with hospitals, manufacturers and distributors to recover and redistribute quality medical supplies and biomedical equipment to underserved communities globally.

During the high-level meeting, Ategbole led discussions with the organisation’s Chief Development Officer, Michele Egan, alongside other stakeholders, including Dr Abiola Fashina of Nigeria Connect Inc. The talks centred on establishing a sustainable framework to equip secondary healthcare facilities in Ondo State with essential medical tools.

The proposed collaboration is expected to boost diagnostic capacity, improve treatment outcomes and enhance maternal and child healthcare services, while reducing the financial burden often associated with accessing critical medical care.

As part of the visit, Ategbole inspected medical equipment already designated for shipment to Ondo State, assessing their quality, durability and suitability for local hospital needs.

He stressed the importance of deploying functional and impact-driven equipment capable of transforming service delivery across public hospitals in the state.

The Hospitals Management Board chairman noted that the international outreach followed his recent statewide assessment tour of health facilities, during which he engaged medical directors, health workers and patients to identify pressing equipment gaps and operational challenges requiring urgent intervention.
