Leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The meeting, held in Akure on Saturday, was convened under the leadership of Prince Tony Ala, who led deliberations on the state of the party and strategies to strengthen unity across the council area.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the leaders said they remained loyal to the President and the governor, praising Tinubu’s reforms and leadership direction.
They stated, “We reaffirm our unwavering loyalty and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, whose leadership continues to reposition the nation and Ondo State for growth and stability.”
The stakeholders also credited the President with facilitating key infrastructure projects in Akure and its environs, including road construction and institutional upgrades.
They added, “We are committed to mobilising massive grassroots support to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.”
The leaders commended Aiyedatiwa for promoting peace and development in the state, noting his efforts in urban renewal and appointments of Akure indigenes into key positions.
They further applauded the conduct of recent APC congresses in the state, describing the process as peaceful and reflective of internal democracy under the governor’s leadership.
A vote of confidence was subsequently passed on Aiyedatiwa, with the leaders pledging continued support for his administration and policies.
On political positioning, the stakeholders endorsed Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo for the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency seat and Hon. Adeola Rosemary Fynch for the Akure South Constituency I seat in the state assembly.
The communiqué, however, rejected the imposition of candidates, insisting that only credible and widely accepted aspirants should emerge, while also warning against acts capable of causing division within the party.
