Police disrupt kidnap plot, rescue two victims in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has foiled an attempted abduction along the Idogun–Imeri road in Ose Local Government Area of the state.

The development was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh.

Jimoh explained that the incident occurred on Thursday evening when suspected kidnappers invaded a social gathering in the area.

He said police operatives swiftly responded to a distress call and moved to the scene, confronting the attackers and halting the operation.

“The hoodlums stormed a gathering where people had assembled for a social function, but our officers acted promptly and disrupted their activities,” the statement noted.

During the operation, the police rescued two victims from the assailants and rushed them to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

“The victims were rescued unhurt and have been taken to a medical facility for proper care,” the command stated.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, praised the оперативes for their quick intervention and dedication to duty.

He also reassured residents of sustained security patrols in the area, while urging the public to remain alert and continue to provide useful information to aid ongoing operations.
