BREAKING: Cubana Chief Priest loses APC Reps ticket

Popular socialite and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has failed to secure the All Progressives Congress ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The nightlife entrepreneur had in recent months declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat on the platform of the APC, generating widespread reactions across political and social circles in the South-East.

Cubana Chief Priest, who also serves as coordinator of the South-East City Boy Movement, had obtained the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms, saying his ambition was driven by a desire to promote youth empowerment and grassroots development.

His entrance into politics sparked mixed reactions among residents and party stakeholders, with supporters citing his popularity and philanthropic activities as strengths, while critics questioned his political experience and readiness for legislative duties.

However, the APC primary election conducted as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections ended without the celebrity businessman clinching the party’s ticket for the constituency.

Details surrounding the final outcome of the primary, including the total votes recorded and the identity of the eventual winner, were yet to be officially released as of the time of filing this report.

The development has since generated reactions on social media, where supporters and political observers continue to debate the outcome of the contest.
