Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has come under fresh criticism from allies of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following his withdrawal from the APC governorship primary.
Fubara had on Wednesday announced his decision to pull out of the contest, saying the move was aimed at preserving peace and unity in the state.
Reacting shortly after the announcement, Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, ridiculed the governor in several posts shared on social media.
Olayinka alleged that Fubara had lost political influence in Rivers State, claiming that none of the state’s political structures remained loyal to him.
He further claimed that the governor had no supporters contesting for National Assembly or State Assembly seats under the party.
The FCT minister’s aide also resurfaced an old video clip in which Fubara allegedly made disparaging remarks about Wike, including comparing the former governor’s comments to the barking of a dog.
The latest exchange highlights the lingering political tension between both camps despite ongoing realignments within Rivers State politics.
