An atmosphere of fear has enveloped Akotogbo community in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State following the recovery of the bodies of two residents from a forest in the area.

The deceased, identified as Loyinmi Bode and Andrew Friday, were said to have been found at different spots in separate incidents recorded within the last one month.

The incidents have unsettled residents of the farming community, with many expressing concerns over growing insecurity and calling for urgent action from relevant authorities.

Reacting to the development, the Ondo State Police Command said it had strengthened security presence in the community to forestall any possible breakdown of peace.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incidents and disclosed that security operatives had been deployed to Akotogbo and surrounding areas.

According to him, the command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property and ensuring residents go about their activities without fear.

Jimoh stated that security patrols and other proactive measures had been intensified in the affected community to maintain order and reassure residents.

He added that investigations were ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths and bring those behind the incidents to justice.
