The City Boy Movement, a political support group backing President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, has commenced consultations and grassroots mobilisation efforts in Adamawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The move was unveiled during a strategic meeting held in Yola and hosted by the Adamawa State Coordinator of the movement, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya, who represents Fufore/Song Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The meeting brought together state and local government officials of the group to discuss plans for expanding its activities across the state.
Speaking at the gathering, Boya said the movement was committed to mobilising support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa, adding that efforts would soon be intensified across communities, wards and polling units.
According to him, the group intends to establish a presence in all parts of the state as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
“We are determined to reach every community and ensure that our message gets to the grassroots. Our objective is to strengthen support for President Tinubu across the state,” he said.
Boya explained that the movement operates under the leadership structure of the President, whom he identified as its Grand Patron, while Seyi Tinubu serves as Patron.
He added that plans were underway to inaugurate officials at the state and local government levels, open offices in the 21 local government areas of the state and provide logistics support for members.
The lawmaker urged members to remain committed to the group's objectives, assuring them that necessary resources would be made available to facilitate their activities.
Also speaking, a former lawmaker and APC chieftain, Hon. Abdulmumuni Song, who coordinates the movement in Song Local Government Area, expressed optimism about the group's prospects in the state.
The Youth Coordinating Director of the movement, Ahmed Marafa, commended Boya's leadership and dedication to the organisation's goals.
Marafa and other members at the meeting also lauded the lawmaker's contributions to constituency development, citing projects and interventions in infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and healthcare.
They called on members to remain focused as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
