President Bola Tinubu, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and other prominent political figures have paid glowing tributes to the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, on his 60th birthday.
The tributes highlighted Ajanaku’s contributions to journalism, democratic governance and the progressive political movement over the years.
In a congratulatory message issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Ajanaku as a courageous and dedicated media professional who had remained committed to the journalism profession for decades.
The President also commended the former media aide for his role in the struggle against military rule and his contributions to the advancement of democratic governance in the country. He noted that Ajanaku had played significant roles in public communication, including his service in Lagos State and his involvement in the media campaign of the late former Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Tinubu further praised the commissioner for deploying his media expertise to promote government programmes and policies, particularly efforts aimed at enhancing public understanding of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a separate statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa described Ajanaku’s 60th birthday as a significant milestone and commended him for his professionalism and dedication to public service.
According to the governor, Ajanaku has brought his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening information management and improving communication between the Ondo State Government and residents since his appointment as commissioner.
Also joining in the celebrations, Akande applauded Ajanaku for his integrity and commitment to using journalism as a tool for public service, while Fayemi recalled his contributions to the pro-democracy struggle during the June 12 campaign and his role in defending progressive ideals in Ekiti State.
Afenifere chieftain and former NADECO Secretary-General, Ayo Opadokun, as well as APC-USA National Leader, Dele Alade, also praised Ajanaku for his steadfast commitment to democratic values and the progressive movement, describing his contributions to political advocacy and media engagement as invaluable.
