ADC National Youth Leader resigns

The National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress, Sultan Bello, has resigned his membership of the party with immediate effect.

Bello conveyed his decision in a resignation letter dated September 24, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of the Ja’oji Gyadi Gyadi Arewa Ward in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.

In the letter, Bello said his decision followed consultations, careful consideration and personal reflection, without giving a detailed reason for leaving the party.

The former youth leader expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the activities and development of the ADC during his membership.

Bello also thanked his principal, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, for his guidance, trust and support during his time in the party.

He equally acknowledged the party’s leadership, stakeholders, members and supporters, saying his experience in the ADC had provided him with valuable relationships and lessons.

Bello subsequently requested that his resignation be accepted and that his name be removed from the party’s membership records with immediate effect.

The development comes amid heightened political activity within the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Bello’s resignation adding to recent changes involving prominent figures in the opposition party.
