The APC Grassroot Queens United has mobilised women across Adamawa State for the 2027 elections, declaring support for President Bola Tinubu, the party’s governorship hopeful, Tijjani Galadima, and other APC candidates.
The political mobilisation was held in Girei Local Government Area, where women, party leaders and members of support groups gathered to discuss grassroots participation and the implementation of the Renewed Hope agenda.
Beyond politics, the organisers used the gathering to promote economic empowerment, with 75 women receiving grinding machines to establish or strengthen small-scale businesses.
The beneficiaries were drawn from communities in Adamawa Central, including Yola North, Yola South, Girei, Hong, Gombi and Song. The organisers said the intervention was intended to help recipients generate income and improve their families’ livelihoods.
Speaking at the event, Dr Ahmad Adamu Babukkoi said the Renewed Hope Project was established to help take government programmes closer to citizens. He urged stakeholders to give greater attention to education, youth development and vocational training.
The Director/Coordinator of Support Groups, Hon Gibson Nathanial, described the gathering as an opportunity to introduce the Renewed Hope Project to Adamawa. He called for stronger cooperation among support groups and grassroots political structures.
Also, Dr Salihu Bakari Girei urged APC women to maintain unity and remain loyal to the party, stressing that a strong grassroots structure would be vital to the APC’s success in the 2027 elections.
He identified local government autonomy, student loans, livestock development, security, road infrastructure and economic recovery among areas requiring sustained government attention. He also advocated increased crude oil production and better management of the country’s foreign reserves.
Another speaker, Hon Salihu Muhammad Abba Girei, stressed the need for political groups to understand the specific needs of their constituencies. He said such knowledge would make grassroots mobilisation more effective.
Meanwhile, the APC senatorial candidate, Comr Mustapha Salihu, announced a N500,000 cash support package, with N50,000 allocated to beneficiaries under the empowerment programme.
The organisers said the initiative was intended to combine political mobilisation with direct economic assistance to women at the grassroots.
They reaffirmed their backing for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid, Galadima’s governorship ambition and other APC candidates seeking seats in the National Assembly and State House of Assembly.
The group said it would sustain its grassroots mobilisation and empowerment activities across Adamawa State as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
