A married gym instructor, Dennis Emmanuel, has expressed regret over his sexual relationship with social media feminist Folakemi Martins, after their failed affair turned into a public dispute involving allegations of harassment, stalking and attempts to damage his marriage.
Emmanuel took their dispute to X, formerly Twitter, where he accused Martins of refusing to accept the end of their relationship and allegedly contacting him repeatedly after he decided to break off the affair.
According to Emmanuel, the relationship began on May 9, 2026, after he told Martins that he was married and wanted a “side chic,” claiming that she knew of his marital status and agreed to the arrangement.
He subsequently shared screenshots of their alleged conversations online, which he said showed Martins making demands for intimacy and questioning his decision to end their relationship.
In one of the alleged exchanges, Martins was quoted as asking Emmanuel why he “went off” after she sought marriage from him, while other messages showed her complaining about a lack of affection and communication.
Martins was also alleged to have accused Emmanuel of neglecting her, saying she had repeatedly begged for intimacy, video calls, clarity, meetings and affection during their relationship.
Emmanuel, however, said he ended the relationship because of what he described as Martins’ aggressive and condescending behaviour. He further alleged that she and some of her friends continued to stalk him and his wife on social media after the affair ended.
He claimed the situation escalated to the point where Martins allegedly appeared at his residence with other people, prompting him to publicly explain his side of the story, saying the dispute had begun to affect his reputation, marriage and family.
But Martins rejected Emmanuel’s account, insisting that she never agreed to be his “side chic” and was unaware that he was married when their relationship started.
Speaking with Saturday PUNCH, Martins said she was gathering evidence and pursuing the matter through legal channels, adding that she would provide more details when permitted by the court.
“I’m currently working on enough proof and doing everything legally. I know everyone has been trying to get my side, but little proof has been out on X.
“I never agreed to be a side chick and was never aware of any marriage,” she said.
Martins declined to comment further on the controversy, saying that any additional information from her side would be made available when the court allowed her to do so.
