Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday swore in a new commissioner, six special advisers and three Tutors-General, alongside the inauguration of chairmen and members of various state boards and commissions.
The new appointees took their oaths of office at a ceremony held at the International Centre for Culture and Events, The Dome, on Igbatoro Road, Akure, where the governor urged them to make the welfare of the people their priority.
Those sworn in included Erelu Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba as Commissioner for Special Duties, while Rt. Hon. Abimbola Fajolu, Chief Ade Adeniyi, Muyiwa Ogunyemi, Femi Fadairo and Rt. Hon. Iroju Ogundeji were appointed Special Advisers on Environment; Rural and Community Development; Transport; Special Duties and Strategy; and Legislative Matters respectively.
The three Tutors-General sworn in were Iwagun Austin Olusola for Ondo South, Dr Jogbodo Bosede for Ondo Central and Fasawe Toluwalase Abayomi for Ondo North Senatorial Districts.
Also inaugurated were the chairmen and members of the Civil Service Commission, Sports Council, State Universal Basic Education Board, Local Government Service Commission, Muslim Welfare Board, Christian Welfare Board, Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, and Cocoa Revolution and Management Board.
Aiyedatiwa told the new office holders that their appointments represented a call to public service rather than personal privilege, urging them to demonstrate competence, integrity, fairness and accountability in carrying out their duties.
He cautioned them against internal rivalry, unnecessary bureaucratic delays and sectional interests, directing them to work collectively in advancing his administration’s “OUR EASE” agenda and ensuring that government programmes produce visible benefits for residents.
The governor said the state’s 2026 budget had risen from N524.411bn to N769.384bn following a mid-year review, with additional resources earmarked for infrastructure, including the construction of at least five kilometres of roads in each of the state’s 18 local government areas.
