The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council has said it will announce more appointments as it expands its campaign structure across the country.
The campaign said the recently released list of appointees was only an initial phase of the organisation, assuring supporters whose names were not included that they had not been forgotten.
The Director of Strategic Communication of the council, Phrank Shaibu, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, saying consultations were still ongoing on the expansion of the campaign structure.
Shaibu urged supporters who might feel disappointed by their exclusion from the initial list to remain patient, stressing that the contributions and sacrifices of those who had supported Atiku Abubakar over the years were recognised.
He said the campaign would draw from party members, experienced political leaders, professionals, young Nigerians and other citizens willing to contribute to its activities.
According to him, the campaign will soon unveil its zonal and state structures, additional senior appointments and other levels of organisation extending to wards and polling units across the country.
Shaibu added that the campaign was also developing a policy framework to address challenges including the cost of living, food security, insecurity, energy, unemployment, manufacturing, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, governance and human capital development.
He said, “Nigeria’s challenges are interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation,” adding that the campaign aimed to match major national problems with practical and implementable policy responses capable of improving the lives of Nigerians.
