Ondo 2020: Don't turn Akungba into battlefield, Alale cautions politicians

Four days to the governorship election in Ondo State, the paramount monarch of Akungba community, Oba Isaac Sunday Adeyeye, Ajimo III, has warned political actors in the University community to shun politics of bitterness and embrace peace, in order to consolidate on gains of democracy and the pursuit of peace and development.

Oba Adeyeye cautioned the politicians over attitude and actions geared towards creating disaffection and divisiveness ahead of the October 10 governorship election holding in the State.

The Monarch made the appeal in his Palace during a peace parley conveyed for the political parties in the community.

He also warned politicians to desist from violence, while canvassing for votes or during elections proper. 

On their part, the representatives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Elder Sehinde Mise; a leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Feyi Akinola and a stalwart of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Mr Orifaye Lawrence, all pledged peace, saying that the paramount monarch has done the needful by calling them together in the spirit of oneness, peaceful coexistence and harmonious relationship.

Meanwhile, there have been flashpoints of political skirmishes in some towns in the three senatorial districts of the State.
