No fewer than 100 people on Monday received free medical check and drugs from the Oyo State College Of Nursing And Midwifery (OYSCONM), Eleyele, Ibadan.
The free health check was held for people around the college community after a health walk tagged ‘walk for life’, held for the staff of the college to keep fit.
Medical tests such as malaria, blood sugar, blood pressure, wider test among others was carried out for free for the people and drugs were given to them after.
The Provost of the College, Dr Gbonjubola Owolabi said the programme was part of the activities to mark the institution’s 74th founder’s day, being the first college of nursing in the country.
Owolabi said the drugs given to them were meant to combat whatever health issues they might have after they had been checked.
She also advised the people to ensure they do medical checkup from time to time, take regular exercise and eat balanced diet so as to keep fit.
According to her, the founder’s day activities began on Friday with Jumat prayer and Sunday Service with thanksgiving at the College Mosque and Chapel respectively.
Other activities she added include novelty match, convocation lecture and ceremony on Thursday. (NAN)
