The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has refuted circulating rumors claiming that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has passed away, describing them as “unfounded.”
MPAC Executive Chairman, Disu Kamor confirmed that the Sultan is alive and well, actively fulfilling his role as a spiritual leader to millions across Nigeria and beyond.
In a statement, MPAC urged Nigerians to disregard the rumors and prioritize verifying news sources, stressing that such false reports only serve to mislead the public. The organization condemned the spread of misinformation, highlighting its potential for harm.
MPAC also called on law enforcement to investigate the source of these rumors, urging authorities to identify, prosecute, and implement measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
